Scouting
Scouting
Scouts provide information on players, such as their skills, potential, tendency to get injured or personality. Some information may not be available on a player's page if they compete in a different league than yours: in that case, send a scout to obtain the missing information.
Scout a player
From a player's profile, click on Scout the player. After a few days, you will receive a scouting report. Each scout can only evaluate a limited number of players at the same time.
Send a scout on a mission
You can also send a scout to a country or to specific competitions to discover new talents. Before sending them, you can set:
- The age and positions of the players you are looking for.
- Whether to include free agents, only local players, or exclude players you cannot afford.
- The duration of the mission (from 1 to 6 months). You will receive a report every month.
A mission has a cost (travel and living expenses), which depends on the destination and the duration. The better your scout knows a country, the higher the chances of discovering talented players there.
Scouting reports
The scouting report reflects what your staff thinks about a player. It can include:
- The estimated level and potential of the player.
- Their injury frequency.
- Their salary expectations.
- Their Personality Traits and short-term goals (see Personality Traits).
- Their pros and cons.
Reports on players in your own team are usually very accurate, while reports on other players depend on the skills of the staff member who created them. Each report has a reliability: scout the player several times to increase it. Scouts with a high reputation will write more reliable reports, faster.
Reports get old: remember to scout a player again if the report was done several months ago.
Tracking list
Add the players you are interested in to your Tracking list: you will receive news about them (rumors, trades, etc.). You can shortlist any player as long as they are not retiring at the end of the season.
