Play Creation
Plays are preset game phases which allow you to give instructions to be followed by your players during an offense. Of course, depending on the game situation, defensive adjustments or your coaching skills, players will be able to adapt the play as they see fit.
The Plays page allows you to check the existing plays or to create new ones that you will be able to call during the game.
Create a new play
Click on Create and fill in:
- Name of play: at least 2 characters, without special characters.
- Starting positions: 3 Out - 2 In or 4 Out - 1 In (see Tactics).
- Versus: the type of defense the play is designed to beat (man-to-man, zone 2-3, zone 3-2, zone 1-3-1...).
You can also Duplicate an existing play to use it as a starting point, or Delete one of your plays. Plays provided with the game can be viewed and duplicated, but not modified.
Build the play
Click on a player to start making changes to their actions. Actions are added one after another for each of the five players.
Player with the ball
- Move: choose the destination and the speed (Walk, Slow run, Normal run, Fast run or Sprint).
- Pass: choose the receiver and the type of pass (Chest, Overhead or Bounce).
- Drive + Shot.
- Shoot.
- Wait: from 0.2 to 5 seconds.
Players without the ball
- Move.
- Make a screen: choose the teammate you are screening for and the duration of the screen.
- Wait.
Before adding any other action, you can also change the starting position of a player.
Finishing the play
A play ends with a shot. Once the shot has been added, the play is set: if you want to make changes, delete the shooting action first. A play without a shot is marked as Unfinished and cannot be used during a game.
Click on See to preview your play on the court.
Calling a play during a game
During a 3D game, open the megaphone menu and select Custom play to choose the play to run on the next possession. You can filter the plays by formation, defense, position of the shooter and type of shot (3 pts, 2 pts, drive, inside shot). The plays you called recently are kept for quick access.
Keep in mind that a play will only be run if it matches the defense played by your opponent and if there is enough time left on the shot clock. Make sure you have plays for every type of defense!
When you do not call any play, your team automatically chooses a play suited to the situation.
