Search for a New Team
Your career as a coach will not always be spent with the same team. You may be dismissed, your contract may end, or you may simply want a new challenge. This page explains how your job security works and how to find a new team.
Board and fan satisfaction
The satisfaction of your directors and your fans are key aspects in the progress of your career. They are affected by each of your actions and will determine whether your contract is renewed or not. You can check them in the Satisfactions section of your team and on your dashboard, where your job security is displayed (from Very secure to At risk).
Directors
The satisfaction of the board is more important than that of the fans when it comes to the renewal of your contract. If the board is not satisfied, it may dismiss you or choose not to renew your contract at the end of the season.
Whether you achieve the objectives set at the beginning of the season or not will have a big impact on the final decision. A series of wins or losses will also have a significant impact. Keep an eye on your finances too: the board does not like a negative balance!
Fans
Fan satisfaction depends largely on series of wins or losses, but also on the facts behind the results (wide margin of victory or defeat, results against rivals, etc.).
It has less impact than the satisfaction of the board, but if the fans remain fairly optimistic, it may save you from being dismissed.
Objectives
At the beginning of every season, you are invited to a meeting with the board, which sets an objective for each competition (e.g. Reach the playoffs, Finish the season in the black). If you do not attend the meeting in time, the board will set the objectives itself.
You can choose to raise an objective for a limited time after it has been set. If you select higher objectives and fail, the board is likely to be less indulgent with you at the end of the season. However, if you achieve them, it will be delighted and will probably increase the team budget.
Dismissal
Your job is reviewed regularly during the season, at the end of each competition and at the end of the season. You are protected during the first months of your contract, and the time you have spent at the club also counts in your favor.
The board will usually send you warnings (Not satisfied with the team's results, Disappointing results in...) before taking a decision. If things do not improve, you will receive the message You have been dismissed!
Contract renewal
When your contract is about to expire, the directors may send you an Offer of renewal if they are satisfied with your work. This depends on your objectives and on the satisfaction of the board. Otherwise, your contract will simply end and you will have to find a new team.
Resigning
You can resign at any time from your profile by clicking on Resign.
Finding a new team
Apply for a job
Click on Apply for job (or Search for a new club if you currently have no team) to see the list of clubs looking for a coach. Only senior teams without a coach and taking part in the playable competitions are listed.
You will receive an answer within a few days. Your chances depend on your experience and your attributes (see Coach Attributes) compared to the reputation of the league. Note that a club you have recently left will not want to work with you again too soon.
Job offers
When you are unemployed, clubs may also send you offers directly. National teams can send you offers even if you already manage a club, as long as you do not manage a national team yet. You can then Accept the offer or Turn down the offer.
If you do not want to be disturbed, you can disable these offers in the career settings: Do not receive offers from clubs and Do not receive offers from national teams.
