Settings

The Settings menu in the top bar gives access to two kinds of settings:

  • Overall settings: global options, shared by all your careers.
  • Parameters current game: options specific to the career you are playing.

When you launch the game for the first time, a popup will also help you set the most important options (colorblind mode, currency, units and difficulty).

Overall settings

Click on Save to apply your changes. Some of them are only taken into account when the game is restarted.

General

  • Language: on Steam, the language is set in the game properties in your Steam library.
  • Window mode: play in a window and choose its resolution.
  • Currency: Euro, US dollar, Canadian dollar, Yen, Pound or Yuan.
  • Height unit (centimeters / feet) and Weight unit (kilograms / pounds / stones).
  • Date format and Display of odds (European, British or American format).
  • Maximum skill value: display skills out of 20 or out of 100.
  • Player overall rating:
    • Position-weighted: top players reach 90+.
    • Attribute average: most players are between 30 and 70.
    • Hidden: only the level estimated by your staff is displayed.
  • Display of team names: Home – Away or Away – Home.
  • Game difficulty: Beginner, Easy, Normal, Hard or Expert. See below.
  • Display financial summary popup after simulations.
  • Do not play the music when launching the game.
  • Send anonymous reports to the game developers to help us fix bugs.

Games and sound

  • Quality of 3D graphics: Low, Medium or High.
  • Quality of the fans and Quality of the stands: from disabled to high.
  • Animations on billboards.
  • Frames per second during games: the higher this value, the more fluid the animations.
  • Highlight the player with the ball and Effects on ball.
  • Volumes: menus, music, sound effects in games and fans in games.

If you experience slowdowns during games, see the advice on the Pro Basketball Manager 2027 page (3D Match Quality).

Accessibility

  • Colorblind mode: Deuteranopia, Protanopia or Tritanopia, with a live preview.
  • Text scaling: Small, Default, Large or Larger.
  • Scroll speed and Controller cursor sensitivity.
  • Display of shortcuts: show the controller shortcuts only when using a controller, or always.

Difficulty

The difficulty affects the performance of the AI during games, how demanding players are during negotiations, and how fast the AI adapts to your tactics. On harder levels, the AI will target weak matchups more aggressively and react faster to your tactical changes. Players will also ask for higher salaries, longer contracts or specific roles.

Parameters current game

These options only apply to the current career. They are kept when you next save the game.

  • Always halt simulations when an important message is received.
  • Do not receive offers from clubs / Do not receive offers from national teams (see Search for a New Team).
  • Auto save frequency: bi-monthly, monthly or every 90 days.
  • Training management: Manual or Automatic. In automatic mode, your staff takes care of training (see Training).
  • Staff management: Manual or Automatic. In automatic mode, staff members are recruited and renewed for you (see Staff).

New career options

Some options can only be chosen when creating a new career:

  • Enable tutorial.
  • Competitions: men's and women's, only men's or only women's. Excluded competitions are removed, which speeds up loading.
  • Playable leagues: the more leagues are playable, the slower the simulation.
  • NBA drafts: if disabled, prospects will not automatically sign with American teams (see Draft).
  • Player traits: enable Personality Traits.
  • U21 competitions: generate and simulate U21 competitions (noticeably slower simulation, see Youth Teams).
