Youth Teams

Your club can have several associated teams: U21 team, junior team, youth team or reserve team, depending on the country and the league.

Youth players

New young players join your youth teams at the start of each season. The level and potential of these players depend on your Youth Academy (see Facilities).

At the end of the season, players who are too old for their team move up to the next team, until they turn pro or leave the club.

Young players progress faster than older ones, especially with a coach who has a good Teaching attribute (see Training and Coach Attributes).

Using youth players

If you are short of players, you can display the players of your associated teams on the roster page and select them for your games.

You can also make a first team player available to your U21 or reserve team so that they get more playing time.

U21 competitions

When creating a new career, you can choose to generate and simulate the U21 competitions. Note that this makes the simulation noticeably slower.

Prospects

The Prospects page lets you see promising young players who have the highest chance of playing at a professional level. Players are listed according to their country of origin, and the number of players for each country depends on the number of competitions in that country. Send a scout if you want to know more about them (see Scouting).
